The Yale Glee Club is Yale's principal undergraduate mixed chorus and oldest musical organization, having just celebrated its 150th anniversary.

During the 2010-11 season, the Glee Club won rave reviews in the national press, from The New York Times ("one of the best collegiate singing ensembles, and one of the most adventurous...an exciting, beautifully sung concert at Carnegie Hall") to The Washington Post ("Under the direction of Jeffrey Douma, the sopranos - indeed, all the voices - sang as one voice, with flawless intonation...their treacherous semitones and contrapuntal subtleties became otherwordly, transcendent even").

Since the days of Marshall Bartholomew, the Yale Glee Club has been recognized throughout the world for its new contributions to the choral repertoire.

Today, we keep this tradition alive by sponsoring our annual
Emerging Composers Competition and the Fenno Heath Award for the composition of new Yale songs, by presenting frequent premieres of new music by the world's leading composers, and through the Yale Glee Club New Classics Choral Series, a source for exciting new music for mixed chorus.

Alumni of the Glee Club remain active members of our community of song through annual Singing Dinners, regional choral festivals, reunions, and other activities sponsored by or affiliated with the Yale Glee Club Associates, the Glee Club's own alumni organization.

Many of our alumni also sing in the
Yale Alumni Chorus, which just returned from a successful concert tour of Turkey, Georgia, and Armenia.

The Yale Glee Club is one of the world's most traveled collegiate choruses.  It has appeared before enthusiastic audiences in every major US city and abroad on six continents.

During the 2010-11 season, the Glee Club traveled to Chicago, Washington DC, San Francisco (for an appearance with Darren Criss from TV's Glee), Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Czech Republic, France, and Turkey.

Our tour in 2012 takes us to California and Hawaii.
