For a century and a half, the Yale Glee Club has represented the best in collegiate singing-from its earliest days as a group of thirteen men from the class of 1863 to its current incarnation as an eighty-voice chorus of men and women. |
The Yale Glee Club will be celebrating its 150th Anniversary during the 2010-2011 academic year. Please check our website in the weeks to come for detailed information about this year long celebration
|
We sing a broad spectrum of choral music from the 16th century to the present, including Renaissance motets, contemporary choral works, world folk music, traditional Yale songs, and the great masterworks of the choral-orchestral repertoire. |

Since the days of Marshall Bartholomew, the Yale Glee Club has been recognized throughout the world for its new contributions to the repertoire for choir. Today, we keep this tradition alive by sponsoring our annual Emerging Composers Competition and the Fenno Heath Award for the composition of new Yale songs, presenting frequent premieres of new music, and through the Yale Glee Club New Classics Choral Series, a source for exciting new music for mixed chorus by leading and emerging composers. |
Alumni of the Glee Club remain active members of our community of song through annual Singing Dinners, regional choral festivals, reunions, and other activities sponsored by or affiliated with the Yale Glee Club Associates, the Glee Club's own alumni organization.
|
The Yale Glee Club is one of the most traveled collegiate choruses in the country, and international choral exchange, both on campus and on tour, is an integral part of our mission.
During the 2009-10 academic year, the Glee Club traveled to Philadelphia, Florida and the Dominican Republic.
Tours in the current academic year will take us from Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington DC, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, France, and Turkey.
